"Leadership Spotlight" HFG Advisors Womens Business Forum Dinner featuring
Martha Wong -The first Asian American woman elected to the Texas House of
Representatives.

APEX Dallas invites you to join us at our table at the dinner and program
featuring Martha Wong. She was the first Asian American woman elected to the
Houston City Council and then was sworn into office January 2003 as a
Representative in the Texas House of Representatives. She currently serves as
Vice-Chairman of the House Committee on Rules and Resolutions.
Representative Wong earned her Bachelors Degree from University of Texas and
her Masters and Doctoral degrees from The University of Houston.

The APEX Professional Development Committee is proud to invite Sunna Lee, VP
of Merchandising for Riegel, a textile industry company, to speak at our
final Business Card Exchange of 2003. Specific details will be forthcoming
but please mark it down on your calendar to attend!

We've got one Relay Team put together but we have a couple of other people still looking for teammates! Come on out and join our second team of runners. We need 3 more runners and at least one of those to be a female. Mixed teams are allowed now.

12/31: AACA New Year's Gala at sterling hotel

The Asian American Cultural Association (AACA) is sponsoring their annual new
year's dinner/dance at the Sterling Hotel at 1055 Regal row in Dallas this
new year's eve. We are repeating this location since last year's event at
the Sterling was such a success. We are expecting around 200 to 300 people
this year in the Grand Ballroom. We think this is the best deal in Dallas at
$35 per person for a great dinner and dancing.

The Lunar New Year is the biggest gathering, celebrating event for all local
Vietnamese, Vietnamese Americans in the area. This joyous occasion is also a
fund-raising event to support the various social and educational programs,
the Vietnamese-American Community of Greater Dallas offers, to help
Vietnamese Americans who are still struggling in their new lives.

The Youth Mentor Network of Plano, endorsed by Plano Independent School
District, Apple Corp, and Partners In Education, needs your help. YMN is
currently looking for mentors for students from 5th to 12th grades. Your
commitment to work with a student will involve some phone calls, lunch with
the student at school, and provide assistance when other issues arise. YMN
asks that the commitment be for 2 years. Your help will make a difference in
a young person's life.
