The Greater Dallas Asian American Chamber of Commerce announces
the 2004 Awards Banquet honoring notable accomplishments by Asian
American entrepreneurs and businesses, community volunteers and
educators, as well outstanding contributions by Dallas companies
to the Asian American community.
The awards ceremony will be held on Wednesday, August 25, 2004 at
the Adams Mark Hotel, Lone Star Ballroom, 400 N. Olive Street, Dallas,
TX 75201. The banquet will start with a reception at 6:00 p.m. until
7:00 p.m. and will be followed with dinner and an awards program
from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.
The 2004 Awards Banquet recognizes outstanding Asian American individuals
the following categories; Entrepreneur of the Year, Small Business
of the Year, Culture, Music, Journalism, Science, Education, Technology,
Community Service, and Medicine. Nominators must be a member of
the Greater Dallas Asian American Chamber of Commerce, but nominees
need not be a member. Previous awardees have included Lawrence Loh,
Assistant Conductor of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra; Dr. Masashi
Yanagisawa, a professor from UT Southwestern Medical Center who
recently discovered the first human gene that controls sleep and
waking; and Dr. Yoshio Nishi, Senior Vice President of Texas Instruments
who has been awarded more than 50 patents in the US and Japan.

Beat this Texas heat and cool off with us at the lake! Join APEX for
a fun-filled afternoon as we head up to Lake Lewisville. We've rented
a party barge (with water slides) for the afternoon. We'll have some
munchies but this event is BYOB. Please bring your own drinks (alcohol
is allowed), food, coolers, and water toys (can you say Super Soakers!?!).
There will also be a CD player and grill on board as well.
Max capacity is 50, so please RSVP if you plan to attend…only the
first 50 to respond will be allowed on the boat. We'll be boarding
the boat at 1:30pm, so don't be late!

Directions:
1. From McKinney head south on Hwy 121. Turn right on East Hill Park
Rd. one mile past Main St. in The Colony. The turn is just before
the railroad bridge.
2. From Dallas, go north on I-35E take Hwy 121 (exit #448). Turn right
towards McKinney. After about 5 miles you'll pass under the railroad
bridge. Make the next U-turn to go back to the bridge. Turn right
at the bridge.
3. From Ft. Worth, take Hwy 121 north towards Lewisville. Hwy 121
splits just before Lewisville into Hwy 121 and Hwy 121 Business. You
may take either road. Five miles after you pass I-35E you'll pass
under the railroad bridge. Make the next U-turn and go back to the
bridge. Turn right at the bridge
