Proceeds result in grants awarded to services and programs benefiting
the medically underserved women in Collin, Denton, and Grayson counties.
The Susan G. Komen Foundation's mission is to eradicate breast cancer
as a life-threatening disease by advancing research, education,
screening, and treatment.

The race starts at 8:30 AM, which means that APEX runners will should
register by 7:30 AM. It is highly recommended that runners car pool
to reduce traffic congestion around the area. Individuals will pay
their own entry fees.
"These events will occur rain or shine. We reserve the right
to cancel in extreme circumstances. In that event, there will be
no refunds; rather your entry fee will be used as a donation to
the Komen Plano Race for the Cure®."

Synopsis: Recently married Ah Man is killed in a car accident and
his young widow, Siu Wai, is too heartbroken to accept the fact.
She tries to raise his son from a previous marriage by becoming
a bus driver to support the family. Due to tough competition, she
soon faces tough financial difficulties. Directed by Tung Shing-Yee.

& DSM brings Miss Saigon subtitled in Mandarin Chinese

during Sunday, June 6 Performance of MISS SAIGON Asian American Day
will be celebrated Sunday, June 6 with a reception hosted by the Greater
Dallas Asian American Chamber of Commerce and Dallas
Summer Musicals. The reception will be held from 1-1:45
p.m. in the West Lobby of the Music Hall at Fair Park, followed by
a matinee performance of Broadway's classic hit, Miss Saigon, at 2
p.m., and a number of community leaders and public officials are expected
to attend.
The special matinee performance will be subtitled in Mandarin Chinese
in honor of the Asian American community. Dallas City Councilman Gary
Griffith will read a Proclamation from Laura Miller, Mayor of Dallas,
prior to the opening of the show.
Dallas Summer Musicals (DSM) was selected by American Express to receive
$150,000 to support its marketing and outreach programs to the Hispanic
and Asian communities. The grant is part of a nationwide program in
which American Express awards more than $1 million to local arts organizations
to support their efforts to reach new audiences.
Dallas Summer Musicals plans to implement specific marketing campaigns
tailored to both the Hispanic and Asian communities, including translating
advertising and press materials into Spanish and Mandarin languages
for targeted publications, and for the website at www.dallassummermusicals.org.
DSM will also provide subtitles in Spanish and Mandarin for selected
show performances. DSM will be present at local community events and
festivals that attract people from these two cultural backgrounds.
Additionally, DSM will make tickets available to Hispanic and Asian
students, either at a discounted price or free when possible. For
