Translators Needed:
The Asian Breast Health Outreach Project (ABHOP)
promotes breast health through awareness, education, screening
and referral. ABHOP provides information in many Asian languages
about early detection of breast cancer and offers FREE mammogram
screenings for Asian women who meet certain financial and medical
criteria. On Saturday, January 14th, ABHOP will hold their next
mammogram screening, also known as Asian Saturday. The screening
will be from 9:00am to 3:00pm. ABHOP is need of volunteers to
help as translators for their Asian clients. Shifts are available
from 9:00am - noon or 1:00pm - 3:00pm. For more information about

On January 16, 2006, the Dallas Dinner Table (DDT) is sponsoring a dinner
to promote diversity. Participants can register to attend a dinner and share
experiences and thoughts with a racially diverse group. A committee assigns
you a restaurant, based on your location or home address, and there is no
cost to the participants.
The Dallas Dinner Table is a non-profit organization that brings people together
from various cultural backgrounds to dispel racial barriers and encourage
cross-cultural communication. DDT provides an opportunity to hear and share
diverse perspectives about the impact of race on the daily lives of Dallas
residents.

In celebration of the Chinese New Year, the Crow Collection of Asian Art
is proud to present a free festival on Sunday, January 29, 2006 from Noon
to 5:00pm. This free festival will feature martial arts demonstrations, Chinese
game competitions (Go, chess, checkers and Mah Jong), art activities, Chinese
calligraphy, live music and much more. *The Dragon Parade and Lion Dance
are scheduled for 4:00pm on Flora Street. The street will be closed from
4:00pm - 4:30pm for this event.
A Lion Dance will be performed by J.K. Wong Kungfu
Tai Chi Academy on the North Plaza of Trammell Crow Center from 12:15pm -
1:15pm.
